Apollo Agapay wins 2nd MMCCI & GMG Chess Tournament 2025

In the final dramatic conclusion marked by intense tension, Apollo Agapay emerged victorious at the 2nd MMCCI & GMG Chess Tournament 2025 held on last February 22, 2025 at St Francis 4 Covered Court, Binan, Laguna, overcoming in a tiebreak situation.

Apollo demonstrated exceptional skill and strategic brilliance throughout the tournament, finishing with an impressive score of 6/7 points together with Eivanne Jacob Cruz, both hungry for triumph. However, it was Joven’s superior tiebreak by winner over the other.

The list of MMCCI Officers: Ricardo Merano (President), Nicolas Marino (VP for San Pedro), Rodolfo Diokno (VP-Biñan), Angeline Siaga (VP-Sta. Rosa), Katrina Merano (Treasure), Glenn Javier (Auditor) at Samivin Delos Santos (Secretary) and GMG Chess Founder NM Gerald Ferriol.

A very nice atmosphere, a fresh air from beautiful natures, a lot of chess fanatics eagerly watching each move as strategies unfolded on the board. This event not only highlighted the competitive spirit of chess but also fostered a sense of community among players and fans alike.

Top Senior: Milton Casamayor - P1,000 + medal

The 2nd MMCCI & GMG Chess Tournament 2025 is considered one of the premier chess events in Binan. It has established a reputation for attracting numerous strong competitors, experienced players, and rising talents eager to showcase their skills. The caliber of competition highlights Apollo's achievement, as he ranks at the top among such a tough lineup. Both fans and fellow competitors celebrated his well-earned victory, recognizing his position among the elite players in the chess community.
