Zedric Silva wins the 1st GMG Chess Weekly Blitz Tournament 2025
In a stunning display of tactical prowess and unwavering focus, Zedric emerged victorious at the 1st GMG Chess Weekly Blitz Tournament 2025 last April 12, 2025 at GMG Chess Club, Binan, Laguna. He clinched the championship title with an impressive score of 5/6 points.
From the very start, Zedric showcased exceptional tactical acumen, focus and determination, setting the tone with decisive victories in the first 2 rounds against Carl Matencio and Jonathan Jota. Each match saw his navigating complex positions and employing a mix of aggressive and defensive tactics and outmaneuver his opponents.
In round 3 he lost to Rico Belicena but he swiped off all his opponents in the 4th-6th rounds against Genesis Sumaway, rapid top lady Yssabelle Joyce Semillano and rapid 7th place Marlon Berenguila getting 5/6 points, winning the title with one-point lead.
A very nice atmosphere where some watching each move as strategies unfolded on the board. This event not only highlighted the competitive spirit of chess but also fostered a sense of community among players and fans alike.
