Christian Florin wins the 1st Silent Move 1999 Below Chess Tournament 2025

The 1st Silent Move 1999 Below Chess Tournament 2025 on April 12, 2025 at GMG Chess Club, Binan, Laguna, witnessed a remarkable performance by Christian Florin, who clinched victory with a flawless 6.5/7 score. This tournament was particularly challenging, the ratings are very closed to each other and 1999 rating with only 2 unrated players, all are eager to claim the title.

Christian on the move against Roydan Alfaro.

From the very start, the 7th ranked Christian showcased exceptional strategic acumen and deep concentration, setting the tone with 6 decisive victories in the first 6 rounds. Each match saw his navigating complex positions and employing a mix of aggressive and defensive tactics and outmaneuver against Laurence Dumadag, Alfredo Eriful, Roydan Alfaro, Leo Mirana, Ferdinand Peralta, Richard Alarma. And lastly, he drew with 2nd placed Christian Ace Alcira and got 6.5/7 point, a one-point lead with the 2nd placer and secured the title.

The atmosphere was fully-airconed inside the GMG Chess Club, everyone eagerly watching each move as strategies unfolded on the board. This event not only highlighted the competitive spirit of chess but also fostered a sense of community among players and fans alike.
