Victory for "WELCOME 2025" at the 5th Sen. Manny Pacquiao Team Tournament 2024

WELCOME 2025 emerged triumphant at the 5th Sen. Manny Pacquiao 3x3 Team Tournament 2025, a prestigious chess gathering featuring teams with average ratings of 2000 and below, held on last January 12, 2025 at Robinson Galleria. This thrilling event witnessed "WELCOME 2025" clinching victory with a total of 6/7 team points, showcasing remarkable talent and strategic prowess.

The team was composed by 3 veterans chess players: Don Tyrone Delos Santos in board 1, Lennon Hart Salgados in board 2, and John Mauricc Delos Santos in board 3. (in the right side on the picture below)

Tyrone displayed tenacity, contributing 3/7 points, his resilience and skill under pressure played a crucial role in maintaining team morale and competitiveness.
Lennon was the star performer, scoring an almost perfect 6.5/7, his sharp tactics and strategic foresight were crucial in securing critical matches for the team, often turning the tide with brilliant middle-game strategies and endgames.
John Mauricc also played a pivotal role, amassing 6/7 points. His solid performances and consistent victories added tremendous value, asserting dominance in key matches with precise and calculated play.

The team started strong with decisive victories, 4/4 team points, setting a formidable pace for their opponents. In Round 5, marked by tension and strategic prowess, ended in a 3-board draw. While in Round 6, a presented a mix of outcomes: Tyrone faced a challenging position, resulting in a loss, yet this was offset by Salgados’ brilliant win, John's drawn game further highlighted the team's resilience under pressure, contributing to maintaining their lead.
