Gary Legaspi Clinches Victory at the 2nd BCA U16 & 50+ Tournament 2025
The 2nd BCA U16 & 50+ Tournament 2025 on May 11, 2024 at GMG Chess Club, City of Binan, unfolded with much enthusiasm, bringing together a mix of spirited young talents and seasoned veterans in Laguna and Cavite provinces. The tournament, with its unique U16 and Senior categories, promised a thrilling contest of strategy, skill, and mental fortitude. Amongst the competitors, one name shone brightly: 56-year-old Gary Legaspi, who emerged as the virtual champion after an impeccable performance in the first five rounds.

In the opening rounds, Legaspi showcased a blend of strategic depth and calm demeanor, swiftly advancing through the tournament. His understanding of the game and ability to anticipate opponents' moves appeared unmatched. As the rounds progressed, Gary's focus never wavered, allowing him to dominate the board against both emerging youth and experienced counterparts.
He scored a perfect 5/5 points against Roberto Azul Jr, Stephenj Dave Machica, Princess Miracle Cabus, Jeffrey Louise Magalang, and Karl Jerson Blando making it the virtual champion after round 5. And lastly lost to Danny Tan in the final round.

The atmosphere was fully-airconed inside the mall eagerly watching each move as strategies unfolded on the board. This event not only highlighted the competitive spirit of chess but also fostered a sense of community among players and fans alike.
