Ricardo Batcho wins the 4th AQ PRIME Fide Rated Standard Chess Tournament 2024

 

In a dramatic conclusion marked by competitive tension, Ricardo Batcho emerged victorious at the 4th AQ PRIME Fide Rated Standard Chess Tournament held on last December 19-20, 2024 at EDSA Central Pavillion, Mandaluyong, overcoming a rare and challenging triple tie situation.

Batcho demonstrated exceptional skill and strategic brilliance throughout the tournament, finishing with an impressive score of 5.5/6 points together with NM Al-Basher Buto and NM Jerish john Velarde, each equally hungry for triumph. However, it was Batcho’s superior buchholz with 25.5 set him apart.

A very nice atmosphere where some watching each move as strategies unfolded on the board. This event not only highlighted the competitive spirit of chess but also fostered a sense of community among players and fans alike.

7th Place: Jhulo Goloran - P1,000 + medal

9th Place: Janmyl Dilan Tisado - P1,000 + medal
10th Place: Eowyn Jullado - P1,000 + medal
Not to mention the 1th-15th placer with P1,000 and 16th-20th placer with P500
