John Felix Longasa wins the 4th GMG Chess U16 Tournament 2025

The 4th GMG Chess U16 Tournament 2025 on May 3, 2024 at GMG Chess Club, City of Binan, witnessed a remarkable performance by John Felix Longasa, who clinched victory with a flawless 5.5/6 score. This month tournament was particularly challenging, drawing top-tier players from the 1st district of Laguna and nearby places who are eager to claim the title.

John Felix is on fire, thinking about the next the move.

From the very start, the strong unrated John Felix showcased exceptional strategic acumen and deep concentration, setting the tone with decisive victories in the initial rounds. Each match saw his navigating complex positions and employing a mix of aggressive and defensive tactics and outmaneuver his opponents.

He scored a perfect 5/5 points against Jonas Crisostomo, Roberto Azul Jr, Heaven Grace Aguilar, Jeffrey Louise Magalang, and Jewel Mae Aguilar where his calculated risks paid off, securing the essential half point against his 6th and last opponent Karl Jerson Blando and secured the victory.

The atmosphere was fully-airconed inside the mall eagerly watching each move as strategies unfolded on the board. This event not only highlighted the competitive spirit of chess but also fostered a sense of community among players and fans alike.
