IM Kjetil Stokke wins BCC Blitz December 2024

 

The BCC Blitz December 2024 on December 27, 2024 at The Royal Oak, Bangkok witnessed a remarkable performance by IM Kjetil Stokke, who clinched victory with a flawless 7/7 score. This year’s tournament was particularly challenging, drawing top-tier players from around the Bangkok and nearby places eager to claim the title.

From the very start, the top seed IM Kjetil showcased exceptional strategic acumen and deep concentration, setting the tone with decisive victories in the initial rounds.

His 6th and 7th rounds were no less impressive, showing not only his tactical brilliance but also his resilience in overcoming challenging scenarios. In round 6 he faced the 6th seed Mehta, Hursh, where his calculated risks paid off. And at the last round, he also defeated the 2nd seed Ric Portugalera when he navigated his pieces with both caution and daring, ultimately outplaying his adversaries and secured the victory.

The atmosphere was fully-airconed inside the club eagerly watching each move as strategies unfolded on the board. This event not only highlighted the competitive spirit of chess but also fostered a sense of community among players and fans alike.

Overall, the tournament showcased strong international competition, with players from various countries displaying their skills and fighting spirit.
