The 9th GMG Chess Online Tournament finished with astonishing result, as IM Eric Labog Jr secured the title via superior tiebreak.
Throughout the tournament, Eric's speed, tactical skill, dedication, and unwavering composure were evident in his game play. He drew with Jerome Aragones in the 3rd round, lost in the 5th round with Ben Ari Yannay and win alll the other rounds. In the end, he secured the top spot having 8.5/10 points with superior tiebreak of 41.25. He received the cash prize of P1,500 and certificate. While, Jerome Angelo Aragones got the 2nd spot with same points but with inferior tiebreak of 39.75. He received the P1,000 cash prize + certificate. Ben Ari Yannay secured the 3rd spot with 8/10 points and received the P500 cash prize plus certificate.
