Achieving the Grandmaster title requires a series of high-level performances:

3.a  3 GM norms (2600 rating performance) - Quizon earned his 1st GM norm when He won the AQ Prime ASEAN Chess Championship in February 2023. Secondly by winning the ASEAN Age Group championship on June 2023 in Thailand. And lastly, by winning the Hanoi Grandmaster Chess Tournament on March 2024 in Vietnam

3.b  2500 FIDE rating - Quizon broke the 2500 rating after his 37-move win over GM Igor Efimov in a 4-0 decimation of Monaco in Saturday’s fourth round of the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad at the cavernous BOK Sports Hall here.

3.c  Other considerations like winning the World Junior/Senior Championship (this is only one-time requirement).

His tenacity in critical matches, particularly in the Philippine National Championships and other international tournaments, paved the way for this recognition.

He also won 2 GMG Chess Monthly Online Tournament, the 19th and 22nd with astonishing performance. (click the picture and link below for more info)
